If you are going to be married at St Ambrose’s, it is expected that you complete a marriage preparation course. These courses are available regularly at both Centacare Catholic Family Services or at St Ambrose’s. In addition to the marriage preparation course, Parish Coordinator, Charmaine Chang, and Fr Michael will work with you in preparing for marriage and covering all administrative details.
After discussions with Fr Michael, you are welcome to bring your own musicians for the marriage ceremony, however, the Parish has a Musical Director who is available to be engaged separately. He plays the organ, piano and guitar and is a vocalist in both English and Italian.

You are welcome to bring your own flowers for your marriage ceremony, but if you want the Parish to provide flowers, the person to contact is the Parish Sacristan, Santina Aiello on (03) 9387 1046.
At St Ambrose’s we don’t have a fixed charge for using the church, however, we do ask that couples getting married at the church make a suitable donation. You can give the donation directly to Fr Michael.
On designated Sundays during the year, Baptisms can be celebrated for the children of families in the Parish.
The Baptism program involves meeting with Fr Michael at an early date well before the ceremony. Preparation includes a meeting of parents, over a meal in the Parish House, to view and discuss a video on Baptism. And there is material to consider for preparing the ceremony.
Baptisms of children are normally conducted at 12noon on the designated Sundays or as part of the Sunday Mass.
Adult Baptism is also available through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
For all details relating to the Sacrament of Baptism, please contact:
Parish Coordinator, Charmaine Chang on 0402 811 739.
The Parish Primary School at Our Lady Help of Christians prepares
children for these Sacraments. For children not attending the school,
a Saturday morning catechist class is held during school terms.

Funeral Services are conducted at St Ambrose’s as required. Funeral Directors usually arrange all the details related to coordinating the availability of the church and the cemetery. It is normally best to make the Funeral Director your first point of contact.
